SHS students enrolled in AP classes are prepared and encouraged to take the College Board Advanced Placement Exams administered in May. It is important to note that with qualifying AP exam scores, students may earn college credit, advanced placement, or both at the majority of colleges and universities attended after high school graduation. The policy regarding issuance of college credit is determined only by the college or university a student attends and will vary between institutions. AP scores are valid even if a student transfers colleges. You can check any college's AP credit acceptance policy at AP Credit Policy Search.
College Board AP exam dates are May 3-7, 2021, and May 10-14, 2021. These are National AP exam dates. Please verify your student's availability before registering for testing. The full AP testing schedule is below. Online AP exam registration opens on October 12th through Thursday, October 29th. The cost of each regular exam is $95.00. If students qualify for Free/Reduced Lunch, the AP exam fee is $54.00.
Registration forms are available from AP teachers and Mrs. Kirchmann in the School Counseling Office. These forms must be returned to Mrs. Kirchmann for registration to be complete. This form includes parent permission that allows their student to be transported to off-site testing. Students must use school provided transportation.
